Knock Knock

This week we started a new book entitled "Not a Box." In this book, the main character creates different modes of transportation and even a volcano out of an ordinary box. That gave the kids in our class an idea... is there something we can create from a box?
We set out on a "box hunt" in old Webster and kindly asked different businesses if they had any large empty boxes they were willing to part with.

We were in luck! One business in particular gave us three boxes!
"We should make a race car!"
"Oh and we should make a star ship."
"What about a volcano?"

They quickly decided that the smaller box would be used as a race car and the bigger box a volcano, but first the boxes could be used for something else.

In this two part video, enjoy the play between the Pine friends this afternoon.

Day 2 Pine Room Fun!

For our invitations we have our small world were we can tell stories about what our families like to do outside. In our dramatic play we are showing how we can care for others, including our baby dolls. Outside we are checking out how fun our giant snail and mud kitchen are.

Creek Time

Happy Tuesday! We spent our entire afternoon out at Larson Park! It was definitely a hot one so when the kids heard we were going to get to play in the creek, they screamed in excitement. Not everyone wanted to stomp around in the shallow water and that was a-okay. Such a fun afternoon splashing around, exploring, and doing a great job sticking together as a class!

Celebration!

Happy Monday! Today we started something new before dismissing to go home. Instead of reading a book or shaking our sillies out, we are going to start celebrating our successes for the day! We start off by dancing to Kool & The Gang's "Celebration" and then move into talking about something to celebrate that happened at school. Because it was the first day, it was a little difficult to think of something to celebrate. I imagine by Thursday the ideas will be flowing! Enjoy the dance party from today's first celebration!
