Snow Inside!

This afternoon the Pine kids explored some snow while sitting at the table inside. It was such a surprise!

F used different sized cups and even a funnel to push the cold snow around. He only touched it every so often. He would occasionally bring it close to his face and examine the small bits of snow that were quickly melting in his warm hands.

B on the other hand was no stranger to using his hands while working with the snow. He touched it and giggled as the snow melted between his palms. Every few seconds B would pull his hands out and seemed to wait until they warmed up again to play in it. He continued this same routine for several minutes on end until his little fingers couldn't stand it anymore.

"Ms. Jill look, I made a snowman like the movie!"
L unveiled his small snow tower. It was the exact shape of the cup he was using.

"He is small not big."

Just then L crushed the snowman with a tin bowl.
"I made him go away. It's now a castle!"

He lifted up the bowl and revealed an entirely new structure. With one swift movement L created something new. Things can move quite quickly and moments like this can be missed in just a blink of an eye.

Day 2 Pine Room Fun!

For our invitations we have our small world were we can tell stories about what our families like to do outside. In our dramatic play we are showing how we can care for others, including our baby dolls. Outside we are checking out how fun our giant snail and mud kitchen are.

Happy First Day of School 24-25!

Welcome Pine Families to our 24-25 school year! We are so happy to have your kiddos back in our room. It is so amazing to see how much they have grown physically AND socially, emotionally, and academically!

Welcome back!!

I hope you all enjoyed your long break together. We are back at it with our same centers and focus words UP and DOWN. This will be the last week for our current activities and will change it up for the last 2 weeks before our next BIG break. Only 12 days left together for the year and we are counting down!  Please help us celebrate:  Pine’s Friendsgiving Feast! Your kiddos have been hard at work filling each other's buckets through acts of kindness. They earned a special celebration before the Thanksgiving break but we held off our celebration so all friends could participate. Today we read a book called Feast for 10 and were inspired by some ingredients. If you would like to help us celebrate our friendship and donate to our feast, we would love it! Our plan is to celebrate on Thursday Dec 5th. Thanks :) https://docs.google.com/document/d/1Zu9-130U8W6xGWiNsdlLMXYA9q8yOASwtSEybrST3Rc/edit?usp=sharing
