Tall Towers

This week the Pine kids have been really interested in building with magnetic tiles. Most of the creations made were either towers or castles made with bases that started with four magnetic tiles pushed together to make a cube, each cube was then stacked on top of one another to create a tower containing about 6 cubes.

Today, J wasn't satisfied with a tower containing only 6 cubes. It simply wasn't big enough. In the time lapsed video below you can see how J began constructing a tower that had a pyramid base rather than the classic cube. She realized that this then made a taller tower containing 8 pyramids.

"Look, I can make it taller like this! Now it's the biggest tower!"

Love to see this kind of problem solving!

Day 2 Pine Room Fun!

For our invitations we have our small world were we can tell stories about what our families like to do outside. In our dramatic play we are showing how we can care for others, including our baby dolls. Outside we are checking out how fun our giant snail and mud kitchen are.

Today was “the most amazing day” according to one friend! Thanks to PAT for leaving the glow party up for us! We also started working on a project that combines letters and numbers, it’s called a graph.

Not a Box!

Good  morning! Today, Ms. Kim is going to show you what she did with a box she found at home. She demonstrates using the core words and even has a special guest to help her with the video. Have you figured out what to do with a box you have at your house? What did you make? What can you make?  We are loving all of the different things some of you have made out of boxes! Keep those creative ideas flowing!!
