Mirrors

This afternoon when the kids walked into the classroom they noticed something different, there were large mirrors up against the wall.
"Why are there mirrors in here?"
"I can see me in the mirror!"
"Look, I am writing here and in the mirror."
"It's so funny. My face is being so funny!"

The kids found the mirrors to be quite exciting as they were able to play at the table and see themselves as they worked. It wasn't until B approached the mirror that the kids noticed a basket of markers sitting next to the mirror.

B picked one up and began doodling; watching himself in the mirror the whole time.

His eyes followed each stroke he made. He used the marker to make big flowing lines across the whole mirror. Occasionally he would glace at his own reflection and begin to giggle.

The mirrors have been a great addition to our room. The kids will walk by and admire themselves working at the table. Some kids would walk by and make faces or even draw faces with the markers. Such a fun new way to notice themselves!

Day 2 Pine Room Fun!

For our invitations we have our small world were we can tell stories about what our families like to do outside. In our dramatic play we are showing how we can care for others, including our baby dolls. Outside we are checking out how fun our giant snail and mud kitchen are.

Today was “the most amazing day” according to one friend! Thanks to PAT for leaving the glow party up for us! We also started working on a project that combines letters and numbers, it’s called a graph.

Not a Box!

Good  morning! Today, Ms. Kim is going to show you what she did with a box she found at home. She demonstrates using the core words and even has a special guest to help her with the video. Have you figured out what to do with a box you have at your house? What did you make? What can you make?  We are loving all of the different things some of you have made out of boxes! Keep those creative ideas flowing!!
