So Many Seeds

The lemon survived another day in the Pine room. After peeling it yesterday, the kids wanted to really tear into it and find ALL of the seeds. After a minor mishap of some juice getting into M's eye, we quickly found a solution! Safety glasses! It was pretty cute to see all of the kids wearing small safety glasses as they worked.

"This lemon has SO many seeds. I just don't know why it has so many."

"The seeds are in here!"

"It's kind of hard to get them out. There are so many and it will probably take a long time to get them all out. I think there's like 1 billion!"

M continued to find seeds, one after another.
"I can't believe there are still seeds! I have to squeeze the lemon to get the all the juice and the seeds out! I think there are one thousand seeds in here!"

Finally, the kids were convinced there were absolutely no more seeds in the lemon they peeled open yesterday. As they worked they talked about several different possibilities they could do with the lemon.
"Maybe we can get the juice from all the lemons and make lemonade!"
"We can make new lemons!"
"Yeah, we should plant the seeds and make more lemons!"
"We have to wait until it's warm to plant them though."
"Maybe we can plant them here at school!"
"There are so many seeds, I don't know if we can plant them all!"

Unfortunately they were unable to count how many seeds there were because we simply ran out of time. Instead everyone took guesses on how many seeds there were in hopes to count them at school on Tuesday.

Day 2 Pine Room Fun!

For our invitations we have our small world were we can tell stories about what our families like to do outside. In our dramatic play we are showing how we can care for others, including our baby dolls. Outside we are checking out how fun our giant snail and mud kitchen are.
