Laundry Basket Races

This afternoon the kids worked incredibly hard, we went into the collaboratory and had laundry basket races! It all started out when during our arrival routine. L & W were taking turns pushing one another across the carpet in the laundry basket. It gave us an idea... what if we raced with them in the collaboratory?!

The kids were so excited to be able to push one another as well as sit in the basket and relax while being pushed. It was a fun way to incorporate some purposeful heavy work into our day. While some of the kids were taking turns pushing the baskets, others were jotting down the times for how long each pair took to get down and back.

These kind of activities build on so many different skills for our kids. Not only did they have to take turns, they also needed to wait, and work together. These three skills, although seem simple, are so important in our daily play to build safe and fun friendships with one another. I would be surprised if the kids didn't fall fast asleep tonight!

Day 2 Pine Room Fun!

For our invitations we have our small world were we can tell stories about what our families like to do outside. In our dramatic play we are showing how we can care for others, including our baby dolls. Outside we are checking out how fun our giant snail and mud kitchen are.

Happy First Day of School 24-25!

Welcome Pine Families to our 24-25 school year! We are so happy to have your kiddos back in our room. It is so amazing to see how much they have grown physically AND socially, emotionally, and academically!

Welcome back!!

I hope you all enjoyed your long break together. We are back at it with our same centers and focus words UP and DOWN. This will be the last week for our current activities and will change it up for the last 2 weeks before our next BIG break. Only 12 days left together for the year and we are counting down!  Please help us celebrate:  Pine’s Friendsgiving Feast! Your kiddos have been hard at work filling each other's buckets through acts of kindness. They earned a special celebration before the Thanksgiving break but we held off our celebration so all friends could participate. Today we read a book called Feast for 10 and were inspired by some ingredients. If you would like to help us celebrate our friendship and donate to our feast, we would love it! Our plan is to celebrate on Thursday Dec 5th. Thanks :) https://docs.google.com/document/d/1Zu9-130U8W6xGWiNsdlLMXYA9q8yOASwtSEybrST3Rc/edit?usp=sharing
