Ball on the Hill

What a beautiful to end our week this week! J & F sure did enjoy playing with one another on the hill back on the playscape. F & J created a strong friendship last year and now that they are in the same class it's stronger than ever!

F grabbed a brightly colored playground ball and began to roll it down the hill. Unfortunately he didn't have a partner to catch the ball at the bottom so he had to chase after it. After a few rounds of doing this by himself, J realized he needed a partner.

F gave the ball one big push and next thing you know, J was at the bottom to catch it! The boys played this game for about half of the time we were outside. It was so sweet to watch them play together and work out there different roles. This class has been working so hard to build friendships with one another and have really shown a deep care for one another. So good!

Have a safe and enjoyable weekend!

Day 2 Pine Room Fun!

For our invitations we have our small world were we can tell stories about what our families like to do outside. In our dramatic play we are showing how we can care for others, including our baby dolls. Outside we are checking out how fun our giant snail and mud kitchen are.

Tree Swing

The Pine kids were SO excited to get back to the forest today. Because S spends the beginning of her day in another classroom, she was already familiar with a coveted branch that hung low enough for the kids to try and swing on.  "There's a tree swing at the forest, we should all do it!" S, who seemed to display a high level of confidence, took a hold of the branch as R handed it to her. She took a deep breath and jumped off the log.  S swung with grace over the ground.  The others watched in awe and quickly lined up to take turns.  Each friend took a different approach and not always quite sure on how to get the same kind of lift and swing S did. W seemed unsure on the whole activity, but was willing to try. He couldn't quite get the desired swinging motion and lost interest after his first try.  L saw how the others were swinging and although a little scared, decided to try several times in a row be...

Creek Time

Happy Tuesday! We spent our entire afternoon out at Larson Park! It was definitely a hot one so when the kids heard we were going to get to play in the creek, they screamed in excitement. Not everyone wanted to stomp around in the shallow water and that was a-okay. Such a fun afternoon splashing around, exploring, and doing a great job sticking together as a class!
