Storyboard.. Kind Of

Another great afternoon in the Pine room! The kids have really taken to their movie ideas and have started creating stories through drawings. All week they have been contributing to the same pictures and elaborating on what kind of movie they want to make. Today, O & J took the time to explain a little bit about what is happening in their movie. The audio is a bit difficult to hear because of background noise and muffled voices through the masks.

O explains that she drew some rainbows that are happy and sad. She really wanted me to know that the little green guy she drew was a frog and NOT a person. O wasn't too sure of her story line yet, but made her best effort to describe her picture.

J also provided some insight on what was happening in his movie. Monsters were attacking the city! All of the kids had to get together and run away from the monster. He too made some really great drawings and was able to explain every piece.

Looking forward to what the kids bring to the table next week!

Day 2 Pine Room Fun!

For our invitations we have our small world were we can tell stories about what our families like to do outside. In our dramatic play we are showing how we can care for others, including our baby dolls. Outside we are checking out how fun our giant snail and mud kitchen are.

Rainbow Snow!

The Pine kids wrapped up their week with playing in the snow! Unfortunately, it is just a wee bit too cold to be playing outside. I do appreciate all of the kids wearing snow boots, coats, hats, and gloves though! It's helpful for the days in which we do decide to take a quick walk around the block 😊 Instead of playing in the snow outside, we brought it inside! Snow is fun to play in, but we couldn't really build a snowman, throw it around, or make snowballs.. what could we do?! Then it dawned on us, let's paint it! We got out some water colors, eye droppers, and a big pile of snow and the kids went to town. They used their knowledge of mixing colors to create new ones as they dropped them onto the white snow.  "It's so cold!" "Look, look, I am making it pink!" "It's blue snow!" They giggled and laughed as the slow melting snow absorbed the bright vibrant colors. It hardly looked like snow anymore! This was a great way to incorporate...
