Tasty Tuesday!

Today we celebrated with Tasty Tuesday! In order to set ourselves up for success for tasty treats today, the kids helped make popsicles yesterday to freeze overnight and then enjoy today. Our journey to make these popsicles started at our afternoon meeting. The kids were posed with the question: What color popsicles should we make? To make things a bit easier, they had a choice between pink or red.

"Oh I want red!"
"Yeah red popsicles!"
"No, no pink!"

Well this was going to be an issue, how would we determine which color to make? A vote!

We greeted each child as normal, but after their name was called they had to write their name under their color choice.

There was one issue... 4 kids and there were two for pink and two for red.
"It's a tie!" L exclaimed.
Now what? Ms. Margie was chosen to make the decision. Everyone waited in anticipation as she approached the board. Margie chose red!
The class cheered! Either way we were getting to eat popsicles 😊

After snack it was time to start making popsicles. Some of the kids were worried that their parents wouldn't know how to make popsicles at home, but I reassured them that my secret recipe would be shared with all of you.
The secret recipe? Kool-aid!

Finally, regular snack ended and it was time to enjoy the popsicles!

PURE BLISS!

Day 2 Pine Room Fun!

For our invitations we have our small world were we can tell stories about what our families like to do outside. In our dramatic play we are showing how we can care for others, including our baby dolls. Outside we are checking out how fun our giant snail and mud kitchen are.

Rainbow Snow!

The Pine kids wrapped up their week with playing in the snow! Unfortunately, it is just a wee bit too cold to be playing outside. I do appreciate all of the kids wearing snow boots, coats, hats, and gloves though! It's helpful for the days in which we do decide to take a quick walk around the block 😊 Instead of playing in the snow outside, we brought it inside! Snow is fun to play in, but we couldn't really build a snowman, throw it around, or make snowballs.. what could we do?! Then it dawned on us, let's paint it! We got out some water colors, eye droppers, and a big pile of snow and the kids went to town. They used their knowledge of mixing colors to create new ones as they dropped them onto the white snow.  "It's so cold!" "Look, look, I am making it pink!" "It's blue snow!" They giggled and laughed as the slow melting snow absorbed the bright vibrant colors. It hardly looked like snow anymore! This was a great way to incorporate...
