Happy Monday ***updated****

We always love when are friends come back to school after a weekend away. We had a super fun filled day!
For sign in we searched for our letters and made our names.

Some of us worked on our game pieces for our Pete the Cat Button Counting Game.

Our friend Ms. Kari came to play.

We went for a walk through the neighborhood and our challenge was to use our I Spy Eyes to find shapes, colors, and fall decorations! We found that and so much more!!!

We spied pumpkins: orange, white, yellow, and brown; some small and some big; some smooth and some bumpy.

We stuck together to stay safe.

We spied black bats in the window!

Our friends really loved all the flowers we saw; some were tall and some were short; we spotted the whole rainbow of colors along the way.

We spied hearts

I showed our friends the American Flag and we identified the colors red, white, and blue!

We spied a blue circle.

We spied more pumpkins.

We spied a square.

We spied a blue mailbox and talked about what it is used for.

We spied a fire hydrant and discussed its purpose.

We spied a circle.

It was so big we all could fit inside!

We spied a stop sign and learned it is an Octagon! We remember this from our magic words/activities for stop and go.

We spied an interesting shape. On top is a pentagon with people on it. On bottom we noticed the arrow on a rectangle shaped sign.

We saw a circle with the number 2.

Eden spied a diamond

More fall deocrations

We spotted a star shape inside the letter A.

We stopped to talk about different sizes!

Another flag and it's a rectangle with stars and stripes on it!

Look, numbers! 1
and 3....or maybe an M Mila said.

We spied a heart with arms and legs, how silly.

We talked about why we need trash cans.

We discussed the shapes and colors and why this sign is important.

Eden spotted the applesauce and reminded us that it should have been put in the trash can!

More shapes

We spotted a room we may see in our own house: the kitchen! We all know that food and cooking happens in the kitchen

Eden found something green and soft and showed us all. We learned it's called moss

Ben spotted a bicycle! It has shapes too; the wheels are circles!

I challenged our brains by knowing this color is "Golden" said Eleanor

We spotted the bee

It's a cone for construction said Eden

We talked more about bumpy and smooth

and Eden found more

We had to stop and smell the flowers of course

Another Flag says Eden

and a garage. We joked it looked like a face with it's mouth open

A spider!
 a skeleton
and spider webs!

A Halloween flag and shapes on the door

This might have been our favorite house. We spied trucks

and made friends with some chickens

learned that these are called tomato plants and they start green and turn red

and spied a not so real owl

also made a discovery of soft plants that Eden said felt like bunny ears

The house also had lots of decorations for us to see!

When we returned we added our treasures to our collection

Day 2 Pine Room Fun!

For our invitations we have our small world were we can tell stories about what our families like to do outside. In our dramatic play we are showing how we can care for others, including our baby dolls. Outside we are checking out how fun our giant snail and mud kitchen are.

Rainbow Snow!

The Pine kids wrapped up their week with playing in the snow! Unfortunately, it is just a wee bit too cold to be playing outside. I do appreciate all of the kids wearing snow boots, coats, hats, and gloves though! It's helpful for the days in which we do decide to take a quick walk around the block 😊 Instead of playing in the snow outside, we brought it inside! Snow is fun to play in, but we couldn't really build a snowman, throw it around, or make snowballs.. what could we do?! Then it dawned on us, let's paint it! We got out some water colors, eye droppers, and a big pile of snow and the kids went to town. They used their knowledge of mixing colors to create new ones as they dropped them onto the white snow.  "It's so cold!" "Look, look, I am making it pink!" "It's blue snow!" They giggled and laughed as the slow melting snow absorbed the bright vibrant colors. It hardly looked like snow anymore! This was a great way to incorporate...
