Kick off a brand new week!

Welcome back from a wonderful weekend! We love Mondays because it brings new adventures in our classroom. Today we not only practiced writing our name at check in time we had a magic paper that revealed the letters in our name when we used an eye dropper to squirt watercolor paint on it. Continuing our magic words go and stop we explored trains. Our new magic words are on and off and we are exploring different things that can be put on and taken off and/or turned on and off. Our friend Pete the Cat told us a story about 4 groovy buttons that featured our magic words. We also made a visit to the forest which is always a big hit. Today we collected some sticks we are going to use for a project.

Eleanor really liked the boots she got to wear today. She said, "look at all the bugs!"

Arin found something special and wanted to show his friend Eleanor.

Real wilderness adventuring.

Arin helped us collect sticks

Eleanor noticed the house across the street has a tree house and shouted, "Look at the playground!"

Eleanor was telling her friends that her name is written on her waterbottle.

One friend spotted a mixer truck

Day 2 Pine Room Fun!

For our invitations we have our small world were we can tell stories about what our families like to do outside. In our dramatic play we are showing how we can care for others, including our baby dolls. Outside we are checking out how fun our giant snail and mud kitchen are.

Because S spends the beginning of her day in another classroom, she was already familiar with a coveted branch that hung low enough for the kids to try and swing on.  "There's a tree swing at the forest, we should all do it!" S, who seemed to display a high level of confidence, took a hold of the branch as R handed it to her. She took a deep breath and jumped off the log.  S swung with grace over the ground.  The others watched in awe and quickly lined up to take turns.  Each friend took a different approach and not always quite sure on how to get the same kind of lift and swing S did. W seemed unsure on the whole activity, but was willing to try. He couldn't quite get the desired swinging motion and lost interest after his first try.  L saw how the others were swinging and although a little scared, decided to try several times in a row be...

Creek Time

Happy Tuesday! We spent our entire afternoon out at Larson Park! It was definitely a hot one so when the kids heard we were going to get to play in the creek, they screamed in excitement. Not everyone wanted to stomp around in the shallow water and that was a-okay. Such a fun afternoon splashing around, exploring, and doing a great job sticking together as a class!
