Middle of the week fun

Heeeeey Pine Family! Check out our super fun day!

We started with sign-in as usual and did some fun arrival activities. We are focusing on beefing up our fine motor cutting skills by cutting simple shapes.

At group time today we finally carved our pumpkin. (We had a friend out last week we were waiting on returning and unfortunately this week we have a different friend gone but we were getting worried our pumpkins might go bad.) Thank you Eden's Family for donating a pumpkin to our class!

We explored the outside of our pumpkin using our 5 senses. First, we used our eyes to look. We saw, "Orange", "Round", "Dirt", "Bumps and Cracks". Second, we smelled, but not really a strong smell to report. Third, we touched with our hands and felt "Soft" and "Bumps". We voted not to taste it ("Ew!", "Yuck!", "No way!") and we giggled when we tried to listen to the pumpkin ("Because pumpkins don't talk!").

Then we cut it open and used our 5 senses to explore the inside. First, we used our eyes to look and again saw "Orange" which we determined was the same but a lighter orange. We also saw "Seeds" and "Spider webs". We all voted we liked the smell (well, not Ms. Carrie) and that it smelled like a "Pumpkin Patch". Next, we were very brave, and some even eager in fact, to touch the guts. We voted not to taste it either and still giggled when it didn't talk to us. We then voted on different shapes for the parts of the face and how many of each part we should put on the jack-o-lantern.

What a beautiful day it was in the Mud Kitchen!

We found treasures....

and took turns putting on a show on our stump stage for our friends!

Day 2 Pine Room Fun!

For our invitations we have our small world were we can tell stories about what our families like to do outside. In our dramatic play we are showing how we can care for others, including our baby dolls. Outside we are checking out how fun our giant snail and mud kitchen are.

Today was “the most amazing day” according to one friend! Thanks to PAT for leaving the glow party up for us! We also started working on a project that combines letters and numbers, it’s called a graph.

Not a Box!

Good  morning! Today, Ms. Kim is going to show you what she did with a box she found at home. She demonstrates using the core words and even has a special guest to help her with the video. Have you figured out what to do with a box you have at your house? What did you make? What can you make?  We are loving all of the different things some of you have made out of boxes! Keep those creative ideas flowing!!
