Happy Tuesday! We had so much fun sticking together and having fun today. We welcomed our friends Ms. Julie and Ms. Jody into class today. Our table center was our Alphabet Island game. Our motor center at the carpet we put a snowball IN our spoon, walked across the balance beam, and put the snowball IN our snowman. Of course when we ran out we had to scoop the snowballs OUT of the snowman! At our sensory center we hunted for the letters of our name IN the sensory table. Some of us are really good treasure hunters! Building our names is getting so easy and speedy fast for our friends now. At group time we read the book The Mitten by Jan Brett and worked together to tell the story of WHO is IN the mitten. Ask your kiddo how the animals came OUT of the mitten! For gross motor time we practiced going IN and OUT of a (body sock) tunnel and put puzzle piece in the puzzle. In order to get IN, the kiddos had to answer questions (animal puzzle pieces laid out and asked kids to find the rhyme, beginning sound, characteristic of animal, animal sound, etc.).

Day 2 Pine Room Fun!

For our invitations we have our small world were we can tell stories about what our families like to do outside. In our dramatic play we are showing how we can care for others, including our baby dolls. Outside we are checking out how fun our giant snail and mud kitchen are.

Tree Swing

S, who seemed to display a high level of confidence, took a hold of the branch as R handed it to her. She took a deep breath and jumped off the log.  S swung with grace over the ground.  The others watched in awe and quickly lined up to take turns.  Each friend took a different approach and not always quite sure on how to get the same kind of lift and swing S did. W seemed unsure on the whole activity, but was willing to try. He couldn't quite get the desired swinging motion and lost interest after his first try.  L saw how the others were swinging and although a little scared, decided to try several times in a row be...

Creek Time

Happy Tuesday! We spent our entire afternoon out at Larson Park! It was definitely a hot one so when the kids heard we were going to get to play in the creek, they screamed in excitement. Not everyone wanted to stomp around in the shallow water and that was a-okay. Such a fun afternoon splashing around, exploring, and doing a great job sticking together as a class!
