WEEK 2!

Hello Pine Families! Can you believe it, we are on week 2 of our preschool adventures together. This week we are still working on getting to know each other, our flow of the day and our school expectations. We have already made some great progress on all of these areas! Our friend Ms. Kari (Speech/Language Therapist) joined us for our group time at the carpet and did a speech movie called Our School.

For our center time we played in the construction/block area, dramatic play/kitchen area, and we worked on an art project for our classroom (can't wait to see how it looks!). In our construction/block area friends can explore with blocks of different colors, shapes, and size. We have provided an overhead projector so they can create interesting designs and/or make shadows. (We will rotate different items to construct with so kids can be exposed to lots of different ways to create.) In the dramatic play/kitchen area we have provided concrete/actual items to help them pretend play with such as babies, food, dishes, kitchen, etc. (Later we will encourage friends to make their own items to use in this area!) In the art area we provided crayons of different colors and sizes and a large white paper covering the table and allowed them to explore how they wanted to decorate the paper. (We will use different mediums throughout the year in art time for more exposure. Last week this area was the train station.)

Day 2 Pine Room Fun!

For our invitations we have our small world were we can tell stories about what our families like to do outside. In our dramatic play we are showing how we can care for others, including our baby dolls. Outside we are checking out how fun our giant snail and mud kitchen are.

Today was “the most amazing day” according to one friend! Thanks to PAT for leaving the glow party up for us! We also started working on a project that combines letters and numbers, it’s called a graph.

Not a Box!

Good  morning! Today, Ms. Kim is going to show you what she did with a box she found at home. She demonstrates using the core words and even has a special guest to help her with the video. Have you figured out what to do with a box you have at your house? What did you make? What can you make?  We are loving all of the different things some of you have made out of boxes! Keep those creative ideas flowing!!
