Hello week 6!

Happy Monday Pine Family! Welcome to week 6 and the beautiful Fall Season! This week we are focusing on some new magic words, skills, and activities. We will be practicing our words YOUR TURN and MY TURN, the words YOU and ME, and re-visiting our good question word WHO? To support this we will have lots of fun activities. One of our invitations at centers was playing a game called Alphabet Island. We had to wait for our turn and pass it to another friend for a turn. When it was our turn we had to identify a capital letter and then find a picture that started with the letter's sound and feed it to the Shark! At our music and movement time on the carpet we were introduced to some musical instruments and used the words MY TURN to get to explore the sounds of the instruments. Another invitation at centers was the sensory table. We had different colored items that friends could help sort by matching the color of the item to the correct colored cup. To strengthen our fine motor skills we tried using tongs/tweezers/pinchers to pick up the items. We also engaged friends in conversations about what the items felt like, noticing different sizes, etc. For our third invitation, we had cars! The challenge today was to park the cars in the garage that they matched. Some friends worked on matching colors and others worked on matching letters. We also projected a video of driving on a road and friends could pretend to be driving somewhere.

Day 2 Pine Room Fun!

For our invitations we have our small world were we can tell stories about what our families like to do outside. In our dramatic play we are showing how we can care for others, including our baby dolls. Outside we are checking out how fun our giant snail and mud kitchen are.

Today was “the most amazing day” according to one friend! Thanks to PAT for leaving the glow party up for us! We also started working on a project that combines letters and numbers, it’s called a graph.

Not a Box!

Good  morning! Today, Ms. Kim is going to show you what she did with a box she found at home. She demonstrates using the core words and even has a special guest to help her with the video. Have you figured out what to do with a box you have at your house? What did you make? What can you make?  We are loving all of the different things some of you have made out of boxes! Keep those creative ideas flowing!!
