WEEK 10!!!

Good afternoon Pine Family and a Happy Monday to you all! It is always nice to come back to all your smiling faces! Today we welcomed another new friend; see if your kiddo remembers his name! (I will send home pictures of our new students so you can add to your cheat sheet) We had so much exploring new things today in our classroom. Our magic words are LOOK and SEE which we will practice throughout our activities and in our stories. We have 3 new invitations for centers this week in the sensory table, in our dramatic play area, and at the table. In our sensory table we got to splish splash in some soapy water and help scrub our pumpkins and gourds (along with some other silly/spooky items). We discussed how the fall items looked (white, orange, green, bumpy, small) and how they felt (smooth, bumpy). In our dramatic play area we opened our kitchen once again as many friends expressed they wanted it back! We practiced our kind manners cooking for others and serving them. Friends were able to stir, cut, and pour all kinds of yummy things. We also had conversations about what kind of decorations we could put in our "house" for the upcoming Halloween holiday that our kiddos can't get enough of talking about right now. Our last activity was some fun experimenting with mixing colors. Ask your kiddo if they can remember what colors we mixed to get a new color (red + yellow= orange). We then painted our canvas orange as the beginning of our another color/shape collage were we practice our sticking together skills.

I know many of you are curious about how we will celebrate Halloween in the Pine room! Our plan is to let friends each bring a food item to contribute to our Friendship Mix that we can munch on while watching a short video that the kiddos will vote on. Please keep in mind that food items must be pre-packaged and NO nuts please! I will share a Google Doc with everyone so that we can try not to have too many repeat contributions. We also have some special activities that day and would love your help by sending in a mini pumpkin for your kiddo. (Please do not feel obligated) Any questions or concerns, please let me know!! Thanks

We ask that you do NOT wear a full Halloween costume but please DO wear your favorite spooky (Halloween) shirt.

***Tomorrow is our friend Weston's birthday and he picked a special dress up day to celebrate. He loves Mario and Luigi and is dressing up for Luigi for Halloween. In honor of his special day, we ask that your kiddo wear their favorite Mario bros shirt or choose to wear Red for Mario or Green for Luigi!*****

Day 2 Pine Room Fun!

For our invitations we have our small world were we can tell stories about what our families like to do outside. In our dramatic play we are showing how we can care for others, including our baby dolls. Outside we are checking out how fun our giant snail and mud kitchen are.

Today was “the most amazing day” according to one friend! Thanks to PAT for leaving the glow party up for us! We also started working on a project that combines letters and numbers, it’s called a graph.

Not a Box!

Good  morning! Today, Ms. Kim is going to show you what she did with a box she found at home. She demonstrates using the core words and even has a special guest to help her with the video. Have you figured out what to do with a box you have at your house? What did you make? What can you make?  We are loving all of the different things some of you have made out of boxes! Keep those creative ideas flowing!!
