Weeeeeeek 11!

Happy Halloween!!!! We had a spooktacular day today with so many fun adventures! We decided to stay inside on this wet day and explored the Collaboratory. At our group time we used our 5 senses to explore a pumpkin. Some friends were brave enough to touch the slimy insides! I wanted to let the kiddos make all the decisions about what our Jack-o-Lantern should look like. They made suggestions for what shapes and how many to make the face of the pumpkin. We then voted: 2 circles for eyes, 1 triangle for a nose, and 1 smile with teeth! Our group time gave us plenty of opportunities to use our magic words LOOK and SEE. For centers: we played in our haunted house where we practiced trick or treating for tonight; scooped and poured in our sensory table while discussing which pumpkins were real and which were not real/fake; at our creation station we painted pumpkins we brought in or helped to paint our big classroom jack-o-lantern! After all of that we gathered at the carpet to make our friendship snack. It was fun mixing in all the ingredients to make one big bowl of yumminess! We munched and crunched while watching some fun Halloween stories :)

It was so sad that so many friends are out sick, we wished you well!

We hope everyone has a fun night while staying safe!

Flow of the day:

Table time during arrival: We do name work, reading, building, etc.

We went out of order of our normal routine today since we played inside. The Collaboratory has lots of fun building, jumping, magnets, and wind tunnel.

Next we did centers with our haunted house that helped us practice for trick or treating tonight! We were scooping, dumping and talking about real vs. not real or fake in our sensory table. We also had so much fun decorating our pumpkins we brought in! (Thanks to the extras that were donated.)

We explored our pumpkin, inside and out!

Day 2 Pine Room Fun!

For our invitations we have our small world were we can tell stories about what our families like to do outside. In our dramatic play we are showing how we can care for others, including our baby dolls. Outside we are checking out how fun our giant snail and mud kitchen are.

Today was “the most amazing day” according to one friend! Thanks to PAT for leaving the glow party up for us! We also started working on a project that combines letters and numbers, it’s called a graph.

Not a Box!

Good  morning! Today, Ms. Kim is going to show you what she did with a box she found at home. She demonstrates using the core words and even has a special guest to help her with the video. Have you figured out what to do with a box you have at your house? What did you make? What can you make?  We are loving all of the different things some of you have made out of boxes! Keep those creative ideas flowing!!
