week 22

Happy Monday Pine Family! We are moving our focus to a new magic word PUT and the good question word WHERE? Our invitations during centers are inspired by recent interests expressed in our room. Friends seem to really love animals so we are exploring different kinds of animals, where they live, how we take care of them, things they need, etc. We opened our sensory to find that animals were hiding in oats. We were able to dig them out and PUT them in their home in the puzzle. On our orange carpet we opened a pet shop/veterinarian office.

At the table we began decorating a tree branch that our PM crew were excited to bring back from the forest trip last week. We started by using paint today and were thinking of other fun ways we can continue to decorate it!

Day 2 Pine Room Fun!

For our invitations we have our small world were we can tell stories about what our families like to do outside. In our dramatic play we are showing how we can care for others, including our baby dolls. Outside we are checking out how fun our giant snail and mud kitchen are.

S, who seemed to display a high level of confidence, took a hold of the branch as R handed it to her. She took a deep breath and jumped off the log.  S swung with grace over the ground.  The others watched in awe and quickly lined up to take turns.  Each friend took a different approach and not always quite sure on how to get the same kind of lift and swing S did. W seemed unsure on the whole activity, but was willing to try. He couldn't quite get the desired swinging motion and lost interest after his first try.  L saw how the others were swinging and although a little scared, decided to try several times in a row be...

Creek Time

Happy Tuesday! We spent our entire afternoon out at Larson Park! It was definitely a hot one so when the kids heard we were going to get to play in the creek, they screamed in excitement. Not everyone wanted to stomp around in the shallow water and that was a-okay. Such a fun afternoon splashing around, exploring, and doing a great job sticking together as a class!
