Welcome to week 21!

Hi Pine families and happy Tuesday! To some of us it definitely felt like a Monday as we had to get back in the school grove after our long holiday weekend. We took full advantage of the beautiful weather and went exploring in the Forest! This week we are still focusing on our special words UP and DOWN and reading Gingerbread stories and talking about same and different.

Yesterday was a special day for our twin friends who celebrated their birthday! We want to make it special for them at school too. Today they decided they want to do a dress up day tomorrow! Some ideas shared by them were Spiderman, Hulk, and a crab. If you have a great superhero outfit, please wear it, or if you have a crab costume laying around, we'd certainly love to see that!

Our friends have been on the lookout for a silly baby doll that hides around our room. Today our friend BM said he thought that someone climbed up and took the baby out of the sky on our ceiling and put it back in the baby basket. But then he later spotted the baby sitting on the shelf in the hallway to our bathroom. He said, "the ants striked again!" as last time he thought the ants were the ones who put the baby in the sky on our ceiling. He even noticed some dirt on the ground and thought the ants left behind the mess when they were moving the baby.

Day 2 Pine Room Fun!

For our invitations we have our small world were we can tell stories about what our families like to do outside. In our dramatic play we are showing how we can care for others, including our baby dolls. Outside we are checking out how fun our giant snail and mud kitchen are.

Tree Swing

The Pine kids were SO excited to get back to the forest today. Because S spends the beginning of her day in another classroom, she was already familiar with a coveted branch that hung low enough for the kids to try and swing on.  "There's a tree swing at the forest, we should all do it!" S, who seemed to display a high level of confidence, took a hold of the branch as R handed it to her. She took a deep breath and jumped off the log.  S swung with grace over the ground.  The others watched in awe and quickly lined up to take turns.  Each friend took a different approach and not always quite sure on how to get the same kind of lift and swing S did. W seemed unsure on the whole activity, but was willing to try. He couldn't quite get the desired swinging motion and lost interest after his first try.  L saw how the others were swinging and although a little scared, decided to try several times in a row be...

Creek Time

Happy Tuesday! We spent our entire afternoon out at Larson Park! It was definitely a hot one so when the kids heard we were going to get to play in the creek, they screamed in excitement. Not everyone wanted to stomp around in the shallow water and that was a-okay. Such a fun afternoon splashing around, exploring, and doing a great job sticking together as a class!
