welcome back!

Hello Pine family! I hope you all had a great long holiday weekend. We are jumping right into week 3 with our words of the week STOP and GO. To help us practice we will use music, books and our invitations at centers. This week we invited our kiddos to build an obstacle course, go bowling and explore cars and ramps. Some academic skills naturally embedded in this play are colors, letters, and numbers. We are discussing fast and slow, how to wait and take turns, and help manage our feelings. We have been practicing a train breath to help our bodies when we feel sad, mad, scared or out of control, but this week we introduced the snake breath! See if your kiddo can demonstrate these for you!

Day 2 Pine Room Fun!

For our invitations we have our small world were we can tell stories about what our families like to do outside. In our dramatic play we are showing how we can care for others, including our baby dolls. Outside we are checking out how fun our giant snail and mud kitchen are.

She took a deep breath and jumped off the log.  S swung with grace over the ground.  The others watched in awe and quickly lined up to take turns.  Each friend took a different approach and not always quite sure on how to get the same kind of lift and swing S did. W seemed unsure on the whole activity, but was willing to try. He couldn't quite get the desired swinging motion and lost interest after his first try.  L saw how the others were swinging and although a little scared, decided to try several times in a row be...

Creek Time

Happy Tuesday! We spent our entire afternoon out at Larson Park! It was definitely a hot one so when the kids heard we were going to get to play in the creek, they screamed in excitement. Not everyone wanted to stomp around in the shallow water and that was a-okay. Such a fun afternoon splashing around, exploring, and doing a great job sticking together as a class!
