Happy Wednesday

Happy Wednesday Pine Family! I am so glad to be back today and see all of your smiling faces! I missed everyone while I was gone but was lucky to hear all of the stories of what happened while I was out. Ms. Amy joined us for group time today and practiced a new word with us: TURN. We learned that we can use it to request something, MY TURN, or that it can be used to TURN things off and on and to TURN a page in a book. We made sure to practice our new word as we explored our centers.

Last week, a link to sign up for family chats was sent out. I know that some families did not sign up. You can still visit the link to see available time slots but you do not have access to select one. If you are still interested in popping in, please let me know when and I will be happy to put you on the schedule!

Day 2 Pine Room Fun!

For our invitations we have our small world were we can tell stories about what our families like to do outside. In our dramatic play we are showing how we can care for others, including our baby dolls. Outside we are checking out how fun our giant snail and mud kitchen are.

Rainbow Snow!

The Pine kids wrapped up their week with playing in the snow! Unfortunately, it is just a wee bit too cold to be playing outside. I do appreciate all of the kids wearing snow boots, coats, hats, and gloves though! It's helpful for the days in which we do decide to take a quick walk around the block 😊 Instead of playing in the snow outside, we brought it inside! Snow is fun to play in, but we couldn't really build a snowman, throw it around, or make snowballs.. what could we do?! Then it dawned on us, let's paint it! We got out some water colors, eye droppers, and a big pile of snow and the kids went to town. They used their knowledge of mixing colors to create new ones as they dropped them onto the white snow.  "It's so cold!" "Look, look, I am making it pink!" "It's blue snow!" They giggled and laughed as the slow melting snow absorbed the bright vibrant colors. It hardly looked like snow anymore! This was a great way to incorporate...
