Welcome back from a long weekend!

Hi pine families, I hope you enjoyed your long weekend together! We are back in full swing in week #10.  We will be switching up our word of the week to TURN. This is a great word to use when we want something; take the opportunity to practice at home asking for “my turn”. We model the tap, look, and ask model with our hand extended out waiting for a friend to place an item in our hand. We have a visual for this if you are interested, just let me know. Turn can also be good for when reading bedtime stories, “turn the page”, and let your kiddo help. We are still exploring birds (where do birds live?), bugs ( how do bugs move?), babies ( how can a doctor take care of the baby?), music (how can each instrument make sounds?) and the color purple (what can you see around you that is purple?).

Day 2 Pine Room Fun!

For our invitations we have our small world were we can tell stories about what our families like to do outside. In our dramatic play we are showing how we can care for others, including our baby dolls. Outside we are checking out how fun our giant snail and mud kitchen are.

S, who seemed to display a high level of confidence, took a hold of the branch as R handed it to her. She took a deep breath and jumped off the log.  S swung with grace over the ground.  The others watched in awe and quickly lined up to take turns.  Each friend took a different approach and not always quite sure on how to get the same kind of lift and swing S did. W seemed unsure on the whole activity, but was willing to try. He couldn't quite get the desired swinging motion and lost interest after his first try.  L saw how the others were swinging and although a little scared, decided to try several times in a row be...

Creek Time

Happy Tuesday! We spent our entire afternoon out at Larson Park! It was definitely a hot one so when the kids heard we were going to get to play in the creek, they screamed in excitement. Not everyone wanted to stomp around in the shallow water and that was a-okay. Such a fun afternoon splashing around, exploring, and doing a great job sticking together as a class!
